For some children with trichotillomania wearing a hair piece or hair extensions will help them feel more confident. Hair extensions hide the bald spots so the disorder can remain hidden. Kitty got her first set of hair extensions to hide the bald spots on the top of her head this past weekend.
I still need to figure out a better way to hide the clips. They are visible in this photo. We have been using head bands, but they don’t stay on her head very well. With practice and trial and error I am sure we will figure out a better way to get her head piece to stay on and remain hidden.
